Under direct supervision, performs semi-skilled work in the operation of a variety of vehicles, equipment and heavy equipment in the Public Works Department; performs general labor related to Public Works activities.
Qualified candidates will have a H.S. diploma or GED equivalent and two years of construction, equipment maintenance and related equipment experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Ideal candidates will have a valid commercial driver's license. Pre-employment drug test, criminal background report required.

Position: Building Inspector

Laramie County is seeking a Building Inspector for Planning/Development. Under the general direction of the Building Official, this position applies specific code, basic engineering, and technical construction knowledge to the review and inspection of building permit activities. The Building Inspector will perform inspections of buildings and structures in all stages of construction, alteration and repair and enforce related building codes. Assists in the checking of plans for new construction, alterations or remodeling to ensure compliance with pertinent codes, accepted engineering practices and general land use standards and zoning regulations. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and two years of relevant building inspection experience or vocational/technical training in general building construction or trades; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Qualified candidates must have a State of Wyoming Journeyman Electrician license and a driver license with an acceptable driving record. Successful candidates must be able to obtain within twelve months of employment certification as a Building Inspector from the ICC. Position: Customer Service Representative/Range Safety Officer ( Part Time)
Department: Laramie County Shooting Sports Complex

This position provides customer support for the Shooting Sports Complex while supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This support includes answering phones, greeting customers and accurately collecting payments for goods and services. This position will also be responsible for maintaining safety on the range by enforcing Range rules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Qualified candidates must have a H.S. diploma (or equivalent) and one year experience with cash handling or general clerical duties. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of firearms or shooting sports. Candidates must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Position: Seasonal Laborer (Temporary)

The position is responsible for providing additional support for the Public Works staff. Laborers are responsible for operating mowing equipment for roadsides, parks & grounds and governmental complexes, operating paving equipment and other manual tasks as assigned. Regular schedule is Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday 10 hours days but may be required to work weekends to cover park activities. Applicants must be 18 years or older in order to be considered. Applicants must also have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Estimated season is from May through August.

Position: Emergency Dispatcher
Department: Combined Communications Center
Beginning Pay: $ 17.43 per hour

Emergency Communications Dispatchers provide citizens their first contact with law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services in Laramie County.
The Combined Communications Center is a 24/7 operation that receives approximately 312,000 administrative and 72,000 9-1-1 telephone calls per year. Dispatchers are required to effectively communicate with callers, make critical decisions and record information into the computer system. Dispatchers must also effectively communicate with first responders via radio and track responder resources during multiple activities.
