Land Surveyors of Wyoming / Southeast Chapter have collectively
entered into an agreement for the establishment of a Continuously
Operating Reference Station (CORS) in Laramie County, Wyoming.
have dedicated their time and resources to establish the
Cooperative CORS and a point of distribution for the mapping
resources were provided as follows:
Navigation 5700 GPS CORS station and antenna
TRS datalogging software and datalogging computer
Tribach for antenna mount
Technical knowledge of the Wyoming State Geodesist and NGS State Geodetic
Antenna mount and support
IT support and telecommunications links for successful data transmittal to
NGS and Cheyenne/Laramie County GIS Cooperative website.
for distribution and archival of mapping data to the public
and GIS Cooperative members

Navigation Trimmark IIe radio, cabling, power converter
and accessories for the purpose of broadcasting a Real
Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS corrector signal
Coordination of FCC licensing.
The station consists of a Trimble 5700 dual frequency GPS receiver, a Trimble D/M choke ring antenna, and TRS v1.05 data logging software. Station operation is 24 hours a day.
A Trimble HPB450 35 watt radio broadcasts CMR+ in the TrimTalk450s mode at 9600 baud on 461.65 MHz for Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveying. The RTK signal is available approximately from 0500 to 2000 hours local time.
A Trimble .DAT file (5 second measurement rate) is posted every thirty minutes to the National Geodetic Survey where it is converted to the RINEX format. Data is available for download from www.ngs.noaa.gov/CORS.
The station coordinates are listed below. Elevations and heights are referenced
to the Antenna Reference Position(ARP) which is the bottom of the antenna.
(CORS96) POSITION (EPOCH 2002.0)
Latitude = 41 06 16.29463 N
Longitude = 104 46 31.29352 W
Ellipsoid height = 1824.750 m
Geoid height = -16.44 m
Orthometric Elevation = 1841.19 m (computed from Geoid 03)
