Gay Woodhouse Biography
Gay Woodhouse was born and raised in the Torrington, Wyoming area. She graduated from Huntley High School. She received a B.A. in English and J.D. degrees from the University of Wyoming.
She worked in private practice with Donald E. Jones in Torrington before coming to work at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office. She worked there for a total of 14 years with a hiatus for 5 years when she worked as an Assistant United States Attorney.
She was Wyoming’s first female attorney general from 1998 to 2001. She has had her own firm in Cheyenne since 2001 and is involved in litigation both criminal and civil.
She was elected Bar Commissioner in 2003 and as an officer of the Bar in 2006. She is currently the President of the Wyoming State Bar.
She is also involved on a number of non-profit boards including Prevent Child Abuse Wyoming, Safe Harbor, a Children’s Justice Center, and Rotary.
