BOARD OF HEALTH SUMMARY REPORT

HOME LOAN / SEPTIC PROGRAM :
New loan inspections evaluated were three (03).
Pre-Existing Loan inspections evaluated were fifteen (15), a decrease in loans of forty-nine (49) year to date from October 2007.
Residential septic permits issued were six (06).
Commercial septic permits issued were one (01).
Repair septic permits issued were zero (00), a decrease of seven (07) year to date from October 2007.
Septic inspections were sixteen (16), a decrease of sixteen (16) year to date from October 2007.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
Plats, Subdivisions, Zone Changes and Variances Reviews :
Staff reviewed twelve (12) Cheyenne and Laramie County Site Plans.
FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM :

Food Service Regular Inspections: 39. Total inspections were 50.
Itinerant (temporary) food service permits issued: 30. Issued for the year: 563.
Itinerant Inspections: 4.
Day Care Inspections: 08.
School Food Service Inspections: 21.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASE INVESTIGATION:
Staff investigated (5) communicable disease reported cases.
SWIMMING POOLS :
Staff inspected six (06) swimming pools, spas, or similar installations in October.
PLAGUE:
No Plague activity to report for the month of October. However, staff did investigate one cat with Tularemia and send out a PSA to alert the community.
MASSAGE & BODY ART:
Staff inspected one (01) massage & body art establishments for the month of October. Six (6) massage therapists were licensed in the month of October.
AGENCY MEETINGS:
- Gary Hickman attended: Division Directors (4), PERT, HAPPI, Pan flu Hot Wash, County Agenda (2), City Planning (2), County Commissioners (2), County Planning (2), Governors Food Safety, City Council (2), Governors Water & Wastewater, WANG RAB, CRI, County Nuisance (2), Mayors Staff (2), EPI, State Health and EH Staff (4).
- Roy Kroeger attended: GIS Tech, Mayors Staff, Flu Clinic Hot Wash , Staff (4), NEHA Board Meeting, Flu Clinic ERT and WEHA Board Meeting.
- Beth Harris attended: Flu Clinic Hot Wash and EH Staff Meeting (4).
- Terri O'Connell attended: Flu Clinic ERT, Flu Clinic Hot Wash , WEHA Board and Staff (4).
- Jennifer Escobedo attended: Staff (3) and Tularemia Meeting.
- Amie Merwin attended: City Meeting, Christmas Parade Planning, GKF Fund (2), ERT (2), Drive Through Flu Clinic and EH Staff (3),
- Tiffany Metz : WEHA Board, Flu Clinic ERT, Flu Clinic Hot Wash and EH Staff (3).
TRAINING:
- Beth attended GIS training and GPS classes.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
- Gary, Roy, Amie, Tiffany, Theresa, Beth, Gil, and Sandra participated in the Pandemic Flu Clinic in October.
- Roy, Terri and Tiffany attended the WEHA/AEC conference.
- Jennifer and Tiffany attended the World Aquatic Health Conference.
- Amie assisted in the judging for the Central Culinary Team.
- Gary, Beth, Roy and Amie took the Servsafe Instructor/Proctor exam.
WATER:
Approximately (197) water samples were drawn for October. (169) were satisfactory. (28) were unsatisfactory.
WESTNILE VIRUS:
Christy finished out the season with data entry and recovery of surveillance traps; she began work on the end of year report.
FIREWORKS:
No firework stands inspected for this month.
