Public Health Nurse

General Description of Work: Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons. Teaches and counsels patients and families. Arranges for and conducts nursing clinics and classes. Documents care given according to policy. Teaches individuals and groups in health promotion and disease prevention. Works with county manager, agency staff and state Bioterrorism team for the planning, training and implementation of public health emergency plans, and potential post-event case follow-up. May monitor the work of health care aides and other support staff. Uses the Core Functions and Essential Services of Public Health in determining priorities and responsibilities.
Essential Duties: Provides direct nursing care for Maternal Child Health clients in the home and other settings, through use of the nursing process, including teaching and counseling patient and family in patient's care. Uses the Core Functions and Essential Services of Public Health in determining priorities and responsibilities. Document nursing care given, according to State Standards for documentation in a timely manner. Uses nursing process to document the care given, and the evaluation of nursing interventions; documents referrals and case conferences with the client's providers. Provide immunizations to infants, children, and adults. Plan and conduct health clinics and classes at various sites within the county and occasionally at other locations. Refer patients to other community resources and collaborate with those providers in carrying out patient care. Work with county nurse manager, agency staff and state PH Emergency Preparedness team for the planning, training and implementation of plans, including smallpox and pandemic flu clinics and potential post-event case follow-up.
Knowledge and Skills: Skills in applying principles of nursing process and scientific process. Knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing; ability to apply to job duties. Knowledge of public health core functions and essential services. Skill and ability to apply medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care. Skill in interpersonal relationships. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to apply scientific and theoretical concepts as a basis for decision making. Knowledge of physical, biological and behavioral sciences. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to health care. Must be able to: Lift/transfer of patients to different positions. Lift medical/ patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs. Must have current Wyoming RN license, current CPR certification, and valid Wyoming driver's license.

Environmental Health Receptionist
Environmental Health Receptionist to perform a variety of general secretarial and clinical duties. Must be proficient with Microsoft office and be able to operate office equipment to include computers, printers, copiers, calculators and FAX machines routinely. Must have a valid Wyoming Driver's License in good standing. Full time benefited position working Mon-Fri, 8 am to 5 pm. Position is open until filed and pay range is 11.80 – 13.89. Part-Time PRN Certified Nursing Assistant
Part-Time PRN CNA needed for a busy home visiting program. Flexible hours are perfect for those in schools or as a second job. Variety of duties are required for a home health CNA to include but not limited to: bathing clients and assist with ADL's, housekeeping, respite care, and running/assisting with errands. CNA must have good communication skills and be willing to be a team player. CNA must have a dependable car to be able to drive to patients homes throughout the day. Must be able to pass background check and drug test. Work hours are Monday thru Friday 7am-6pm. No Holiday or weekend work.
