Permit Process
Untitled Document
The first step in completing your project is to determine which permit you need. Please use the "Building Permit Applications" link (located above and below) to access the list of permit applications, you can call our office at (307) 633-4512 for help determining what application is appropriate for your project. Each permit application has a checklist of items required for each specific permit.
Upon receipt of your application and documents, our plan reviewer will evaluate them and contact you with any questions. For more information about the plan review process, please click the "Plan Review" link.
Valuation:
Valuation is a dollar figure that is the cost of the project and should include labor and materials. Homeowners who are doing the work themselves shall provide a valuation that includes a fair labor price. You can also think of the valuation as insurance replacement value. Residential projects are assessed a price per square foot value from which the fees are calculated. Please click here for the current price per square foot schedule. Please click here for the Building Permit Fee Schedule.
We gladly accept cash and checks for payment.
Currently our processing time is 7 to 10 business days for residential permits. Commercial plan review processing is dependant upon the size of the project.
Contractor Licensing:
Laramie County does not currently require Contractor licensing, however the State of Wyoming requires that all Electricians have the applicable State Electrical License. Please contact the State Fire Marshall’s office at (307) 777-7288 for further information. |
