WEEK OF 01/27/2012 THROUGH 2/03/2012

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related to a larceny that occurred in a field south of the York Avenue and Apple Street intersection. Between December 7 2011 and January 5 2012, several tons of scrap steel with a value in excess of $30,000 was stolen from field south of the York Avenue and Apple Street intersection.

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related to a burglary that occurred in 4200 block of Cherry Blossom Drive. Between 6:30pm. December 26 and 8:00am December 28 a residence in the 4200 block of Cherry Blossom Drive was entered, and among the items stolen was a Winchester model 94 30-30 lever action Golden Spike commemorative rifle.

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related to a series of automobile burglaries that occurred in the area of Buckboard Road, Stagecoach Road and Surrey Road. During the late evening hours of November 28 and morning hours of November 29, several automobiles were entered and among the items stolen was a Glock model 22, a Glock model 27 each had a black nylon holster and 2 magazines.

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related a hit and run that occurred at 1319 South Greeley Highway. Between 6:00 and 6:30 pm November 5th, a red Pontiac Sunfire parked on the south section of the parking lot of 1319 South Greeley Highway was struck by a hit and run driver, resulting in approximately $2500.00 in damage.

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related to the theft of a Caterpillar backhoe. Between August 5th and August 24th, a 2002 Caterpillar 420D backhoe was stolen from the 6200 block of the I-80 Service Road.

The Laramie County Sheriffs Office is seeking information related to a burglary in the 5700 block of Berwick Drive. During the evening hours of April 27, and the early morning hours of April 28 a security fence surrounding a construction site in the 5700 block of Berwick Drive was cut, and a storage Conex entered. Taken from the construction site was a large quantity of copper wire.

Between 5 p.m. June 14th and 11:45 a.m. June 15 a residence in the 10000 block of Branding Iron Road was entered, among the items stolen was Frontier Days Guitar with bands signatures from 2009, including Rascal Flats and Taylor Swift.

Silent Witness Crime Stoppers

The Silent Witness Crime Stoppers program combines the efforts of a private organization operated by volunteers with those of city and county law enforcement agencies to solve crimes in Cheyenne.The program was begun in Cheyenne in 1982 after a police staff officer learned of the Crime Stoppers program in Albuquerque. This program pays rewards to citizens whose anonymous tips assist law enforcement in solving area crimes.Originally 100 businesses, organizations and individuals contributed funds to start Silent Witness of Cheyenne, Inc. Many continue to do so today; without private donations Silent Witness could not operate, since no public monies are provided.The local board is composed of twenty members representing business, government, education and the news media in addition to law enforcement. The board is responsible for fund raising and paying rewards as well as serving as a liaison between law enforcement and the community. The board has the backing of various civic organizations.Silent Witness Crime Stoppers serves the community as a whole by enabling crimes to be solved which might not otherwise be solved without the information provided to law enforcement by private citizens. The community benefits through the return of stolen property as well as by the arrest and incarceration of burglars, drug dealers and other criminals. Additionally, citizens are encouraged to be aware of possible illegal activities in their neighborhoods.Silent Witness Crime Stoppers is a deterrent to crime in Cheyenne, making the city a better place in which to live. It also encourages citizens to be aware of possible illegal activities, and provides a way for individuals to assist in solving crimes without having their names known.Many crimes have been solved from information provided by concerned individuals. Recovery of stolen property, arrests of burglars, drug dealers and other criminals are a direct result of information provided by private citizens.Silent Witness Crime Stoppers is YOU!!
