Specific Purpose Sales Tax The Governing Bodies of the City of Cheyenne, Town of Albin, Town of Burns, Town of Pine Bluffs and the Laramie County Board of Commissioners have agreed to a list of projects to be voted on at the August 21, 2012 Primary Election. There are a total of eight (8) propositions to be funded from an additional 1% of sales and use tax. Each proposition will stand alone and require a majority of favorable or “for the tax” votes to be approved. After several public hearings held by each of the Governing Bodies, a committee made up of two representatives from each entity met several times to determine a list of projects. That list was presented to the full council of each city or town and to the commissioners for approval and will now move forward to be voted on by the registered voters of Laramie County.
